With its 1,750 km, Pinchonvalles is the longest slag heap in Europe. It takes the form of an elongated hill with a profile composed of three successive plateaus. It appears almost like a huge liner, stranded in the middle of the Gohelle plains. The slag heap consists of a mosaic of habitats, offering it great ecological interest. Classified under a prefectural decree for the protection of biotopes since 1982, it has become an area of refuge for wildlife. Three trails allow you to discover this slag heap and admire the view at its peak.
